Dahlia Seeds - Juliette/ Belle

20 open pollinated dahlia seeds collected from seed parent Juliette.
 
Due to their complex genetics dahlia seeds will not be the same as the seed parent (only tubers or cuttings will be the same as the parent plant).
Dahlia seeds will thus have mixed results - this is how new dahlias are discovered - and to maximise the chances of plant traits I prefer being dominant I've not only selected plants to collect seeds from with traits for good cut flowers, I also cut back any dahlias in the field that are not decorative or ball so the bees only have the plants I want to work with. 
Growing dahlias from seed is a lucky dip and an exciting opportunity to discover something new. At the very least, the bees love them.
 
Germinate in Spring and transplant when conditions are warm enough/ no chance of frost.
