YOUR LOCAL DAHLIA SOCIETY

A Dahlia society is a wealth of knowledge, advice and information, filled with those with a passion for Dahlias and growers with lifetimes of experience. We recommend joining, you don't have to live in that state to become a member, but of course it helps. Dahlia societies hold shows around Australia each year, and continue to support and promote best practice in growing dahlias.

TUBER CARE

Dahlias come in all shapes and sizes and bigger isn't better when it comes to tubers. Some tubers, like African Sunset, tend to have eyes around the tuber/ not really much neck, whilst others have long necks with eyes around the crown, and range in all sorts of sizes and external appearance. Tubers are checked for viability prior to sending and need to be stored correctly to remain viable if you are not planting them straight away.

Please open your parcel on delivery. Store tubers according to your climate and preferences. Tubers can be planted out after fear of frost has passed, or started in pots in a greenhouse or similarly conducive environment.
